This page explains how to report suspected illegal or unsafe content on Zwag and how to complain about an online-safety or moderation decision.

Report a member or content

If you are logged in and the Report function is available on the relevant profile, use it to report the member and describe the concern as clearly as possible.

If the issue concerns a message, content you cannot report directly, or you cannot access the relevant account, use our contact form and begin your message with ILLEGAL CONTENT REPORT or SAFETY REPORT.

What to include

  • the username/profile or other information identifying the content;
  • what happened and why you believe it is illegal or unsafe;
  • the approximate date/time;
  • any relevant message identifiers, screenshots or other information you can safely provide;
  • how we can contact you if clarification is required.

Do not redistribute illegal sexual imagery or child sexual abuse material in order to make a report. Describe what you encountered and preserve only information that it is lawful and safe to preserve.

How Zwag responds

Reports are reviewed and may result in content removal, a moderation warning, a requirement to correct content, account restriction, monitoring, blocking, preservation of relevant records, or referral to an appropriate authority where required or permitted by law.

Zwag aims to act proportionately and to apply published rules consistently. The seriousness and urgency of the risk will affect how a report is prioritised.

Complaining about an online-safety decision

If you believe Zwag incorrectly removed, restricted or failed to act on content, or you are dissatisfied with how an online-safety report was handled, use the contact form and begin the message with ONLINE SAFETY COMPLAINT.

Include the account/content concerned, the original report or decision if known, and why you believe the outcome should be reconsidered.

Emergency situations

Zwag is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999. If you believe a serious criminal offence has occurred, contact the appropriate police or reporting authority as well as reporting the matter to Zwag where relevant.

Content that is not permitted

Zwag prohibits pornographic content and content that encourages, promotes or provides instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. These rules apply across profiles, photos and messages.

Children and sexual exploitation

Zwag is an adults-only dating service. Content involving child sexual exploitation or abuse is prohibited. Regulated user-to-user providers are subject to the UK statutory reporting duty for detected and unreported CSEA content; Zwag's operational procedure routes qualifying provider reports through the National Crime Agency reporting process.
